PLAN IT
The planning process
should be a group process for departmental or
organizational web sites. It is important to include
the web developer, as well as key people within the
department or organization.
The following
should be considered during the planning process:
- What is the
purpose of the website?
- What is it
that you are trying to accomplish by offering a
website?
- Is it
informational, is it to gather data, is it to
promote your services?
- Who is the
target audience?
- Who are you
expecting to use this site?
- What
information do you want to offer?
- What
information is already available and what needs
to be gathered?
- Who is
responsible for the information?
- What kind of
look and feel should the design reflect?

DEVELOP IT
Content provision - You will provide us with
detailed information on your company, the products
you sell, images and the complete copy for the
website. We may recommend slight changes in supplied
copy in order to assist in search engine ranking. We
can provide royalty-free images if required.
Initial draft - We provide a first draft
for your approval. At this stage any element of the
design can be changed
Site Architecture - Navigation is one of
the most important parts of your site. Site
architecture is established at this point to ensure
your visitors don't get lost on your site. We use
text links, graphic menus and buttons with rollovers
to accomplish this.
Establishing Project Design/Layout - Based
on your feedback from the initial draft, a design is
established and used for your website.
Home Page First - Starting with your home
page, (the main page) we start building your
website. After this part is completed and approved
we move on. If you have requested your site be
optimized for the search engines, it will be started
at this time.
Sub Pages Second - The sub-pages (based
upon layout and design) are now developed until
completion. Forms, Flash, CGI, Java are now added to
your site at this time.
Final draft - We work to produce a final
draft which will form the basis for the rest of the
site. Your full input will be encouraged throughout
this process when you may request alterations.
Final version - We will complete the
website, ensuring it fulfills the requirements
established in the design stage. You may request any
last minute changes before approving the site for
publishing.
